Ottawa Senators star Erik Karlsson rumoured to be off to Finland

OTTAWA - For the last couple of days, Senators star defenceman Erik Karlsson has been asked if he was going to play hockey in Europe.

With a smile, Karlsson would answer: “It’s a secret.”

And despite reports on twitter Tuesday, it’s still a secret.

Numerous twitter reports suggested the reigning Norris Trophy winner has signed with Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League.

But Karlsson’s agent Craig Oster said there was “no agreement as of yet.”

It’s believed a deal could be agreed to within the next 24 hours.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Karlsson was still in Ottawa.
