Senators sign AHL goalie Lawson
By QMI Agency

OTTAWA - The Senators have replenished their goaltending depth by signing Nathan Lawson to a one-year, two-way contract. The club announced the deal on Monday. The 28-year-old, who spent last season with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, figures to back up Robin Lehner at Binghamton. In 44 games with the Canadiens’ affiliate, Lawson had a 19-17-4 record with a 2.57 goals-against average and .914 save percentage while recording a career-high five shutouts. The undrafted Calgary native spent the previous three seasons with the New York Islanders organization. Lawson’s signing fills a gap for the Baby Sens left by Mike McKenna, who inked a one-year deal with the St. Louis Blues on July 1.
