Team Sweden gets trio of Sens

OTTAWA - Daniel Alfredsson will have a couple of Ottawa Senators teammates with him on Team Sweden.

Erik Karlsson and Jakob Silfverberg are also on their way to the world championships, which begin Friday in Stockholm and Helsinki.

Karlsson, who is in need of a new contract, expressed concerns about insurance earlier this week when talking to Ottawa media about playing in the tournament. Apparently, those issues have been resolved.

"It's a great honour and something I want to do," Karlsson said of representing his country at the worlds.

Doing likewise will be three other players in the Ottawa organization.

Milan Michalek will play for the Czechs, Kaspars Daugavins will suit up for Latvia and Stephane Da Costa will represent France.

The Swedes appear to be the favourites to win gold in their home country. The elimination from the NHL playoffs of the Detroit Red Wings has also put Niklas Kronwall, Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen in blue and gold uniforms.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
