Anderson out at least another week, Senators say
By Bruce Garrioch, QMI Agency
Craig Anderson won’t be giving the Senators a hand this week. The injured netminder took shots Tuesday in full equipment and holding his goalie stick for the second straight day. But, coach Paul MacLean said rejoining his teammates for part of a practice session doesn’t mean he could be ready to play against Montreal or Toronto this week. “He’s got a lot of progress with the glove and getting a comfort level, so that’s a good sign to see him out there for a bit. It’s a step in the right direction,” said MacLean. “I don’t anticipate (him playing this week).” Anderson sliced into the fingers of his stick hand with a knife while trying to cut chicken after beating the Washington Capitals back in February. He has been sidelined ever since. Goaltender Ben Bishop will start against the Habs Wednesday night. The Senators were leaving after practice Tuesday to catch a train for the trip to Montreal. |
