Nordiques Nation will invade Scotiabank Place Saturday.
More than 2,000 hockey fans from Quebec City will be on hand as the Senators take on the Oilers. On Hockey Day In Canada, the fans want to send a message to league commissioner Gary Bettman and the owners that they want the NHL back.
Twenty-two busloads — plus others making the five-hour trek by car — will fill the 300 level in their Nordiques’ colours just to make sure the whole country knows how much Quebec City wants the league to make a return.
“We have a lot of fun with this,” said Eric Grenier, an organizer from Nordiques Nation.
“The principal goal (is to show people they want the NHL back.”
Last season, 1,600 people made a trip to Long Island and New Jersey. Nordiques Nation had 100 people in Florida earlier this month and 1,500 in New Jersey in November, while trips are also planned to Boston and Detroit.
