Hoffman called up to Sens
By BRUCE GARRIOCH, QMI Agency

Mike Hoffman is ready for his NHL debut.

The Senators winger was headed back to his Kitchener home for the holidays when he got the call from Ottawa to turn the car around, go back to Binghamton to get his equipment and be ready to join the team for Friday’s game vs. the Hurricanes.

“I was going home for Christmas holidays but I’d much rather be here,” said Hoffman, 22, a former Gatineau Olympique who had 17 points in 32 games in Binghamton.

The decision to bring in Hoffman means defenceman Brian Lee is likely going to be a healthy scratch.

Goalie Craig Anderson will make the start in the club’s final game before the three-day Christmas break.

The Senators will have winger Nick Foligno.

He was given a game misconduct and five minute major for a hit on Keaton Ellerby but Ottawa GM Bryan Murray has been assured by the league there will be no suspension.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
