Filatov stays on bench as Sens face Bolts
By BRUCE GARRIOCH, QMI Agency

Winning formula: Sens vs. Bolts

Nikita Filatov will have a seat in the press box again.

Senators coach Paul MacLean has decided not to make any changes against the Tampa Bay Lightning Monday night at Scotiabank Place which means Filatov will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game.

Returning from a three-game road trip and coming off a 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals Saturday night, the Senators have opted to dress Bobby Butler and give Filatov a seat.

“It’s part of the job. I’m just trying to stay positive and keep working,” said Filatov. “There’s not much I can do about it. I just have to stick with it and keep going.”

Filatov said he knows he has to do start contributing on the scoreboard.

“I’ve felt pretty good. I think I’m playing well. I know I’m not getting points,” he said.

Filatov said he’s not “thinking about” joining CSKA Moscow but admitted there could be another conversation with GM Bryan Murray if he doesn’t get in the lineup soon.

“I’m just trying to do my job and keep working. Things are not going well, I’m not playing,” said Filatov.

Defenceman Filip Kuba (upper body) skated before the morning skate, but won’t be in the lineup. His spot will be taken by Brian Lee.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
