The Ottawa Sunís Don Brennan and Bruce Garrioch werenít happy with the Senators Class of 2010-11.

In fact, while putting together their grades, they gave up some failing marks.

Goalies

#41 Craig Anderson: Finished with 11 victories and was one of the clubís best players. Heíll be key. A

#31 Curtis McElhinney: An efficient backup. A potential UFA, if heís not here, heíll get a job elsewhere. He was fine. C+

#33 Pascal Leclaire: This was just a colossal screwup. His injury historyshould have set off alarm bells. F

Forwards

#9 Milan Michalek: Struggled with injuries, didnít always have results. Has to produce more for ice time he gets. C

#11 Daniel Alfredsson: His season ended early because of a back injury. Has to come back rested and ready. B-

#13 Peter Regin: Maybe 13 really is unlucky. He needs to change his number next year. He was brutal before season-ending knee injury. F

#15 Zack Smith: Viewed as a third-line centre, heís gotta produce more and take less dumb penalties. D+

#16 Bobby Butler: Has a great touch around the net, but if heís not scoring, heís not helping. Finished strong. C+

#18 Jesse Winchester: Thereís nothing fancy, but he didnít contribute the way he did last year. D+

#19 Jason Spezza: After coming back from injury, he had the kind of finish the Senators need all next season. B

#25 Chris Neil: His role hasnít changed on this team. Could have chipped in a few more goals. C+

#26 Ryan Shannon: Had a strong finish. Heís a potential UFA on July 1. He doesnít fit into top six role here. C+

#38 Erik Condra: He played well. Surprised a lot of people, but has to do it from Day 1 of training camp. C

#52 Colin Greening: Could be a power forward in this league. Thereís a spot for him to win next year. C

#71 Nick Foligno: Slow start. Played better as the year went, but still has to make a giant leap. C-

Defence

#4 Chris Phillips: The minus-35 rating isnít indicative of the effort. Heís here to mentor, but has to be better. D

#5 Brian Lee: Worked his way back into becoming regular and gave the club promise for a role next year. C+

#17 Filip Kuba: Two goals, both late in the season, minus-26. Brought nothing to the dance. F

#39 Matt Carkner: Brought his physical style before finishing the year on the injury list. C+

#55 Sergei Gonchar: To call this a disaster would be an understatement. Concussion topped it off. F

#65 Erik Karlsson: Had a pretty good year, broke out offensively, but finished minus-30. B+

Management

GM Bryan Murray: Of all the unloading he did at the deadline, dealing for Craig Anderson looks good. C

Coach Cory Clouston: He should have been shown the door at mid-season. His messaging didnít work. F
