Alfredsson may return for weekend Atlanta game
By BRUCE GARRIOCH, QMI Agency

NEW YORK — Daniel Alfredsson could return next week.

The Senators captain has been skating and working out in Ottawa. He could join the club on its three-game road trip starting Sunday in Atlanta at 2 p.m.

"He's skating, working out and he's trying to get himself back to playing the last few games," said coach Cory Clouston Thursday morning.

The Senators won't have winger Milan Michalek back against the New York Rangers. He will suit up vs. the Washington Capitals after breaking his foot on Feb. 26th against the Philly Flyers.

Once Michalek is ready to return, the club will have to send Roman Wick down because he is on an emergency recall.

"With back-to-back games this gives him another day of skating and another day of rehab," said Clouston. "If we're going to put him in a game it makes more sense that it's the second game."

Craig Anderson will make the start in the club's net.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
