Michalek poised to return to Sens lineup
By BRUCE GARRIOCH, QMI Agency

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Senators carried some extra baggage on their flight here Monday afternoon.

Winger Milan Michalek, who was on the ice with the club at Scotiabank Place in the morning, came along for the ride and will play either Tuesday in Raleigh or Thursday in New York.

Recovering from a broken foot he suffered after getting hit by a Jason Spezza shot on Feb. 26hth against the Flyers, Michalek is excited about returning before the end of the season.

“It was pretty good. It was my second day skating. I’m happy to be back,” said Michalek. “I should play one of these next two games.”

Michalek said he isn’t rushing back.

“It feels good,” said Michalek. “I want to play. That’s what we do. I thought it was looking pretty good a week ago to come back so I started working out.”

With D Sergei Gonchar gone with a concussion, the club will have to recall a blueliner from Binghamton. Don’t be surprised if rookie Patrick Wiercioch suits up for his first NHL game.

Are you surprised Don Cherry backed Daniel Alfredsson's comments?
  Yes.
  No.
It's Don Cherry - who knows what he will say.
  Not sure.
