Alfie: Don't count me out just yet

Daniel Alfredsson is determined to play again this season.

The Senators captain said he’ll have more tests on his lower back this week to determine if he’ll be able to return, but admitted surgery hasn’t been ruled out.

“We’ve obviously talked about surgery as a good possibility,” Alfredsson told the Team 1200 Monday. “The recovery from that would be 4-to-6 weeks. It’s not a huge rush. I would really try to explore all other options before I get to that point.

“Really, I would like to avoid it all together. We’ll see how it goes. The next couple of weeks will tell me a lot about where I am.”

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
