Gonchar OK after shot hits foot

Sergei Gonchar will be fine.

The Senators defenceman left the ice with 20 minutes remaining in practice Monday after taking a shot off the foot, but he was walking around afterward and will be ready to suit up against the Isles Tuesday.

“He should be OK. He just took a puck in a bad spot and he need to get off (the ice),” said Senators coach Cory Clouston.

Clouston said Gonchar has been better since being paired with Chris Campoli.

“(Gonchar) and Campoli have found some chemistry,” said Clouston. “Some of the credit goes to Chris that they found some common ground. They communicate well on the ice and that’s important for any pairing.”
