Leclaire injured again

CHICAGO — Pascal Leclaire is hurt — again.

The Senators goaltender has suffered a setback in his return from a lower-body injury and he won’t be serving as the backup against the Blackhawks Friday night.

Rookie Robin Lehner has been recalled from AHL Binghamton on an emergency basis to dress behind Brian Elliott for Friday night's game in Chicago. Lehner may not be in the building in time for warmup, but will be on the bench for the puck drop.

Leclaire was slow to get up after a drill.

“After the skate, talking with the Pascal and (athletic therapist) Gerry (Townend), he didn’t respond the way we wanted him after the skate,” said Senators coach Cory Clouston Friday afternoon.

“We felt it was in the best interests for him not to put him in a situation where if we needed him, he may re-aggravate it even further. We need to make sure he's 100% if and when he goes back in the net.”

Clouston said Leclaire will be re-evaluated Saturday.

“We’re not sure of the extent of it. We’re hoping it won’t be much longer than (another day or two),” said Clouston.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
