G Pascal Leclaire practised with the Senators on Wednesday for the first time since he was injured on Dec. 17.

While his lower-body ailment limited Leclaire to 25 minutes of practice, he should be able to dress as the backup against the Blackhawks in Chicago Friday night.

“It was a good first step. I’ve been skating on my own the last couple of days and feeling better every day,” said Leclaire. “This was the first time I went down and took some shots. I will see how it feels (Thursday), but I’m probably still a few days away. The last four or five days I’ve been making some progress. I’ve just got to make sure I don’t blow my tires and do too much.”

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
