No room for Savard with Sens

LOS ANGELES — Marc Savard would be willing to come home to play for the Senators.

But while Ottawa is one of five cities Savard would waive his no-trade clause to go to, it appears the Senators don’t have a lot of interest in the Orleans native and Bruins centre.

Toronto, Chicago, Montreal and Philadelphia are believed to be the other four cities Savard would accept a trade to.

The Maple Leafs would seem like a good match as Savard’s former winger Phil Kessel is now with Toronto.

Savard has a cap hit of $4.2 million US for the next seven years.

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli spent the weekend trying to deal Savard after the club chose centre Tyler Seguin with the No. 2 overall selection in the NHL draft.

It’s believe Savard is willing to move to other destinations than the five he’s listed.
