LOS ANGELES -- The book is closed on a trade for Jason Spezza.

Senators GM Bryan Murray said Friday night it's doubtful he'll be dealing the club's No. 1 centre and he expects him to be back at training camp in September.

While Spezza told Murray in a post-season meeting he wouldn't "object" to being dealt, the Senators have investigated the market and can't find a dance partner.

Murray said he'll sit down with Spezza face-to-face when he gets back to Ottawa and put all this trade talk to rest.

"There's not going to be (a trade) at this point in time," said Murray.

"We've talked enough about Jason. I'm very happy. We'll talk to Jason as I get back to Ottawa and continue to get this back in place so that all the speculation goes away." Spezza's "no move" clause kicks in on July 1 and the Senators haven't been able to find anybody willing to pick up the $33 million left on his contract who is going to give them a decent return.
