The struggling Senators are hopeful both centre Mike Fisher and defenceman Filip Kuba will be in the lineup when they start a three-game road trip Thursday in Atlanta.

Fisher missed Tuesday's loss to Toronto - the team's sixth in seven games since the Olympic break - while Kuba has been out for the past six games.

Theoretically, both would help the team offensively, and with just two goals in the last three outings, the Senators need it.

"We've just got to bury our chances," coach Cory Clouston said after Wednesday's practise. "I think we ended up with 18 chances (Tuesday) night, according to our stats ... worst thing we can do is start to panic and worry about goals. We looked at the video, we did some good things offensively, we just didn't bury our chances."

The Senators, who are 14-18-1 on the road, go to Dallas (Saturday) and Montreal (Monday) after their game with the Thrashers. The meeting with the Habs now looks like it could have some added significance, as Montreal has moved to within one point of Ottawa in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Thrashers ended a six-game losing streak against Buffalo Tuesday, while Dallas defeated the San Jose Sharks 8-2.
