Pascal Leclaire and Alex Kovalev were absent as the Senators practised this morning before leaving for tomorrow's game in Washington.

"Both should be ready, but we're not positive," said coach Cory Clouston, refusing to elaborate.

Leclaire suffered a lower body injury in the third period of Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins. After medical attention, he finished the game.

"Skip practice, give it a day of rest and (hope to) be ready for tomorrow," Leclaire said of the thought process behind taking a day off.

If Leclaire is able, he'll start against the Caps. Leclaire stopped 19 of 19 Boston shots after replacing Brian Elliott 13:45 into Tuesday's game. Elliott was pulled after surrendering four goals on six shots.

The visit to Washington is a one-game trip, but also starts off a stretch of six of seven on the road for the Senators.

Away from Scotiabank Place this season they are 6-10-1.
