Bruised Elliott expected to play

SAN JOSE -- Brian Elliott was feeling some pain after practice this morning.

The Senators goaltender was the first one off the ice following the club's one-hour workout at the HP Pavillion today after taking a shot off the forearm on his blocker side.

Elliott, the club's starter with Pascal Leclaire nursing a broken cheekbone, had left practice earlier, but returned after getting taped up and receiving some medical attention.

But once the formal workout ended, Elliott was gone. Coach Cory Clouston said he expects Elliott to play.

"I talked to him after. We're going to re-asses it, but he should be okay," said Clouston.

Elliott said later that he will be fine.

"I take that shot all the time," he said.

The Senators expect to have defenceman Anton Volchenkov back.

"All I can say is he's probable," said Clouston.
