BOSTON — The battle for top spot in the Northeast Division is set for tonight.

Tied atop the division with 29 points each, the Senators will take on the Boston Bruins at the TD BankNorth Garden and Ottawa will be bolstered by the return of centre Mike Fisher from a upper body injury.

Fisher has missed two games.

"Fisher is probable, I just want to make sure," said coach Cory Clouston this morning.

Fisher said he is feeling much better.

"We'll see how it is this afternoon but I've made a lot of improvements," said Fisher.

Defenceman Anton Volchenkov is likely going to have to wait to come back from his elbow injury that has kept him out 13 games. That means rookie Erik Karlsson, recalled from the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton Friday, will make his return to the lineup. He suited up for 12 games with the Baby Sens and had 11 points.

Expect to see G Tim Thomas make the start for the Bruins. He was the first one off the ice this morning and Tuukka Rask has started six straight while Thomas has nursed a undisclosed injury.

Getting stops hasn't been an issue for the Bruins, but they've had problems scoring goals.

"(Thomas has) been getting better and he's raring to get in there. Hopefully he'll be ready to go tonight and I'll make my decision later today," said Julien.

Elliott will make his fourth straight start with Pascal Leclaire sideline with a broken jaw.
