Michalek misses practice

No sign of Milan Michalek today at Senators practice.

He will be there tomorrow.

While the Senators winger was given the day off to rest some bumps and bruises, that doesn't mean he'll miss tomorrow night's visit by Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils to Scotiabank Place. Coach Cory Clouston said Michalek is "fine" and will play.

That's good news for the Senators because the Devils, who face the New York Islanders tonight at home are tough customers, especially on the road. The Devils are a perfect 7-0-0 this season as the visitors and are closing in on the NHL record which is 10 straight victories.

"They're a structured team. They've got a dangerous line (with Zach Parise-Dainius Zubrus-Jamie Langenbrunner) and a dangerous goaltender (Martin Brodeur)," said Clouston. "We've got to have an awareness of what they can do."

Coming off a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday at home, the Senators are feeling pretty good about themselves. Expect to see G Pascal Leclaire get the start. Backup Yann Denis is facing the Islanders which means Brodeur will play tomorrow.
