Senators walking wounded

The walking wounded were missing in action as the Senators took the ice today.

No Pascal Leclaire.

No Milan Michalek.

No Jason Spezza.

In the case of the club's No. 1 centre, he is going to need time off to rest an injury that has been bothering him since the start of camp. Leclaire has the flu and should be fine, but it's not known if he will make the start tomorrow against the Boston Bruins at Scotiabank Place. It would appear Brian Elliott is going to be in the net.

As for Michalek, he has an upper body injury, but is expected to play against Boston. If he can't go in the lineup, then Shean Donovan will be in the lineup.

"He might play anyway," said coach Cory. Clouston.

Centre Jesse Winchester, who has been out since the start of camp with a knee injury, has been assigned to Binghamton for a two-week conditioning stint.

"He's missed a lot of time and he needs to play," said Senators assistant GM Tim Murray.

Defenceman Filip Kuba skated before practice and remains out.
