Sens welcome back Regin

It looks like there will be at least one change in the Senators lineup for Thursday night's meeting with the Nashville Predators at Scotiabank Place.

Rookie Peter Regin looks like he will return to the lineup between Nick Foligno and Chris Neil, replacing centre Ryan Shannon. Regin has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury.

Shannon was one of four players wearing grey sweaters at practice today along with fourth liners Chris Kelly, Shean Donovan and Jarkko Ruutu.

"Possibly, yup," was the reply from Senators coach Cory Clouston when asked if Regin would line up in that spot with Foligno and Neil Thursday night. "He's a good player, a very good player and he was playing well up until the injury."

Regin had two goals and an assist and was plus-three in the four games he played before being injured.

Shannon has no points in three games and is minus-3.

There also remains the possibility defenceman Filip Kuba could be back for Thursday. He skated before practice today and Clouston said a decision will be made tomorrow morning on whether Kuba will join his teammates for tomorrow's practice.

Kuba, expected to be the club's top defenceman, has been sidelined with a groin injury, missing all but the club's first game.

The Senators are 5-2 and in first place in the Northeast Division and seeded second in the Eastern Conference.
