The Senators are shifting around some of the duties in their front office.

With director of hockey operations Brent Flahr leaving to become the assistant GM of the Minnesota Wild, his role will be split between newly appointed director of player personnel Pierre Dorion and Randy Lee, who assumes the role of director of hockey administration and player development.

While Lee, 47, who is in his 15th season with the club was in charge of player development last season, a big part of his new responsibilities will be monitoring the salary cap and the finances in the hockey department.

Dorion, 37, is going to be in charge of the Senators’ amateur and pro scouting, but his focus will remain the NHL draft.
