Sens sign four players

The Ottawa Senators have agreed to one-year contracts with two regulars on the roster of their AHL affiliate in Binghamton.

Defenceman Derek Smith and forward Jeremy Yablonski have both signed two-way contracts. The club also announced the signing of forwards Keegan Dansereau and Brandon Svendsen to amateur tryout agreements.

Smith, 24, has been in the Senators organization since April 2007. The native of Belleville, Ont., spent the 2008-09 season with the Binghamton Senators, tallying seven goals and 17 assists in 75 games.

Yablonski, 29, joined the B-Sens in advance of the 2007-08 season and has led Binghamton in penalty minutes for the past two years with 228 and 215 minutes respectively. The Meadow Lake, Sask., native also added one goal and two assists in 64 regular season games last season.

Dansereau, 21 of Saskatoon, is a product of the WHL's Swift Current Broncos. He had career highs in goals (37), assists (44) and points (81) in 69 games during the 2008-09 season. He was signed as an undrafted free agent.

Svendsen, 25, just graduated from Bowling Green. He joined the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads for 11 games, in which he recorded four goals and 15 assists. The Rosewood, Minn., native scored 12 goals and 18 assists in his senior season at Bowling Green.
