Dany keeps up hopes for trade
Bookmark and Share

MONTREAL -- Agent J.P. Barry is not ready to discuss the what-ifs surrounding the possibility the Senators won't be able to trade Dany Heatley.

In an interview with Sportsnet's Ian Mendes yesterday, Barry said Heatley remains hopeful the Senators will get a deal done before July 1.

GM Bryan Murray has stated that if he can't move Heatley before then, "this (trade) probably isn't going to happen."

That is not something the Heatley camp wants to consider at the moment.

"We don't want to address that right now. (Training camp's) a few months away," said Barry. "We're just trying focus on what we have to do together. We're going to stick to that approach right now."

"I've asked (Heatley) to stay calm," said Barry. "We're just waiting for Bryan to give us news."
