Roy Mlakar says he'll look back on his 13-year tenure as president/CEO of the Senators with but one regret.
"In 2007 I wish we would have won the Stanley Cup," Mlakar said today in his final press conference at Scotiabank Place. "But there's probably a couple of million other people who do, too."
Owner Eugene Melnyk issue a statement Monday stating that Mlakar's contract won't be renewed when it expires at the end of the month.
Cyril Leeder takes over as the team's new president and CEO.
Asked what he plans to do next, Mlakar mentioned that he's "only had 48 hours" to think about that.
"I'm certainly looking forward to staying in sports," he said.
