NOTEWORTHY

W Alexander Ovechkin scored both goals yesterday in the Capitals' 2-1 OT win over the Islanders at the Nassau County Coliseum. Ovechkin now has a league-leading 31 goals. G Jose Theodore was in net for his 200th NHL win ... The Senators have a 1-1 record vs. the Caps this season. Ottawa scored a 2-1 win on Nov. 4 at Scotiabank Place and dropped a 5-1 decision in Washington on Dec. 12 ... Yesterday's win improved the Caps to 11-11-2 on the road this season. The Caps have won six of their last eight games on the road. A victory tonight would put them above .500 on the road for the first time this year ... Ovechkin's next shot on goal will improve his league-leading total to 300. Heading into play yesterday, nobody else in the league had 200 shots.
