Mike Fisher took a step in the right direction today.

The Senators centre, who suffered a knee injury 10 days ago against the New York Rangers, took part in the club's workout at the Bell Sensplex and hasn't ruled out returning for the Battle of Ontario Thursday.

"I felt pretty good. I skated a bit on my own before and then I joined the guys for practice," said Fisher. "I felt quite a bit better than yesterday."

Winger Ryan Shannon, who suffered a concussion after taking an elbow to the head from the Islanders Thomas Pock, also took part in the workout.
