Senators GM Bryan Murray had a blunt message for his players today: The Boss is not pleased.

Before they stepped on the ice this morning, Murray met with the players in the wake of a 3-1 loss to the New York Islanders Thursday night. He let them know he needs everybody to step up if this club is going to end its three-game losing streak.

Facing a Saturday night rematch with the Islanders on Long Island, Murray admitted he's had plenty of trade discussions with several teams. But he said he still feels this group has the capability to get its act together.

"I've thought a lot about it and I've talked to a lot of GMs over the last few days," Murray said. "You can (make trades), but are you going to regret it a little ways down the road?" said Murray today.

"You're giving up a very good player in this league for maybe shaking the team up. That's a fine line right now but very definitely we just can't go on doing what we're doing."

Defenceman Chris Phillips said it's up to the players in the room to get their act together.

"No matter who is saying what, or what's going on, we're in this together," said Phillips.

The Senators have called up forward Ilja Zubov from their AHL affiliate in Binghamton because winger Ryan Shannon is out indefinitely with a concussion. Shannon had been called up from Binghamton for Thursday's game, but could not finish after taking a Thomas Pock elbow to the head in the third period.

Alex Auld, who made 28 stops against the Isles and held the game to a 1-1 tie until the third period, will make the start tomorrow.
