Daniel Alfredsson isn't sure if he's ready for action.
The Senators captain skated with the team this morning and will try again tomorrow to see if he is ready to return from knee surgery he had last Friday to repair a floating bone chip.
While Alfredsson has made great progress, the Senators are going to be careful about rushing him back into the lineup against the Phoenix Coyotes Friday or the Boston Bruins Saturday.
"It was as expected. I skated a little bit on my own (Tuesday) and it felt okay. Today it was as expected," said Alfredsson.
"It felt pretty good. I don't know (if he will play). It's a possibility but if it happens or not I don't know. It's still a bit away. It's not 100 per cent but hopefully I can push it a little bit more."
Alfredsson wasn't on a line and left the practice at 11:05 — about 35 minutes into the session. Rookie Nick Foligno has been skating with Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley in Alfredsson's absence.
