Big news for Sens

Dany Heatley expects to be back in the Senators lineup when they host the Florida Panthers tomorrow night at Scotiabank Place.

His return would come almost four weeks after the star winger separated a shoulder in a game against the Detroit Red Wings.

And it cannot come too soon for a team that has been reeling in recent weeks. The Senators played a spirited game Tuesday night in Montreal, but still lost their third straight by a 4-3 score. The Canadiens have climbed within a point of the Senators for first place in both the Northeast Division and the Eastern Conference -- and the teams meet again Saturday in Ottawa.

"It's always tough sitting out watching games," Heatley said after this morning's practice. "It's an important time of the year. I'm excited to be back."

Meanwhile, Daniel Alfredsson will not be in the lineup against the Panthers. Recovering from a hip strain, the captain says he's hopeful to be back for Saturday's home game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Ray Emery will start in goal tomorrow.
