Pierre Dorion was officially added to the Senators' scouting department yesterday, given the same responsibilities -- scouting the amateur ranks in Canada, the U.S. and Europe -- he had with the New York Rangers the previous two seasons.

Dorion, an Orleans native, was the Montreal Canadiens co-ordinator of amateur scouting for four seasons prior to joining the Rangers.

The son of late, former Toronto Maple Leafs chief scout Pierre Dorion, the newest Senator was the director of hockey operations for the CJHL's Ottawa Senators before joining the Canadiens' staff in 1994 at the age of 22, which made him the youngest amateur scout in the NHL at the time.
