John Paddock has a short-list of four candidates to round out his coaching staff.

League sources told the Sun yesterday the newly appointed Senators coach will interview Ottawa goalie coach Ron Low, Rochester's Randy Cunneyworth, Vancouver Giants coach Don Hay and Omaha coach Ryan McGill for the vacant post on his staff.

Low, a former coach of the Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers, is considered the frontrunner. Low, who was responsible for helping to train all the goalies in the Ottawa system for the last five years, worked closely with Paddock while he was behind the bench of the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton.

Cunneyworth was interviewed for the top job in Ottawa, but also has opportunities in Phoenix with Wayne Gretzky and Florida with former Senators coach Jacques Martin. It's believed Paddock is waiting for permission from Flames GM Darryl Sutter to speak with McGill.
