1. CHICAGO: Havlat tips a pass in the neutral zone to Vrbata, who crosses the blue line and drops it back to Havlat. He cruises in from the left wing boards and delivers a perfect feed back to Vrbata, who redirects it past Gerber. Blackhawks 1, Senators 0

2. OTTAWA: Schubert wins a battle with Sharp and moves the puck along the boards behind the net to Saprykin. He moves to the left of Lalime and, from in close, tucks a shot over the goalie's left shoulder and under the crossbar. Blackhawks 1, Senators 1

SECOND PERIOD

3. OTTAWA: On the power play, Spezza feeds Heatley in high slot. His slap shot is kicked out by Lalime, but Alfredsson moves in from the point to flip the rebound into the open side. Senators 2, Blackhawks 1

4. OTTAWA: Alfredsson carries into Chicago territory and finally drops the puck to Meszaros. His shot from the point is deflected by Vermette, who was cruising in front. Senators 3, Blackhawks 1

THIRD PERIOD

5. CHICAGO: Holmqvist emerges from the corner and feeds Lapointe, whose shot from the slot hits Redden and winds up with Holmqvist, who fires it past Gerber. Senators 3, Blackhawks 2

6. CHICAGO: Accepting an Ottawa turnover, Brent Seabrook's point shot is deflected by Vrbata and beats Gerber between the legs. Senators 3, Blackhawks 3

Senators W Peter Schaefer left the game in the second period with a sore shoulder. Afterward, he said it was a "nagging" injury that wasn't serious ... W Patrick Eaves was a healthy scratch for the third straight game. He was joined on the sideline by W Brian McGrattan, who was scratched for the fourth consecutive game and 13th time in the last 14 games, and recently acquired D Lawrence Nycholat, who was on the trip but has yet to make his Senators debut ... The 'Hawks didn't have their third-leading scorer, Tuomo Ruutu, who was forced out by the flu ... Yesterday's game was the 200th of Antoine Vermette's NHL career.
