NOTEWORTHY

Senators W Patrick Eaves played just six minutes against the Sabres Thursday night, so he might be a candidate to come out of the lineup when tough guy Brian McGrattan goes in tonight ... With their win Thursday, the Sabres narrowed the season series to 4-3 in favour of Ottawa ... With his two goals Thursday night, Senators W Dany Heatley now has seven goals and eight assists in seven games against the Sabres this season. He has 17 goals and 18 assists in 25 career games against the Sabres ... Despite all their injuries, the Sabres have not lost in regulation time in their last seven games. They have one loss in that span, in a shootout against Boston Feb. 17 ... The Sabres have been in 13 shootouts this season and have won 10 of them ... With C Chris Drury out, the Sabres recalled former 67's F Mark Mancari.
