NOTEWORTHY

Ottawa D Andrej Meszaros, RW Daniel Alfredsson and LW Peter Schaefer weren't on the ice yesterday. They were all given the day off for various bumps and bruises. "They all should be fine," said Senators coach Bryan Murray. Meszaros has a sore foot after blocking a shot by Rangers F Brendan Shanahan in the third period of Thursday's 6-4 win, but expects to play. D Anton Volchenkov will return to the lineup after miss the game against the Rangers with a sore foot ... C Josh Hennessy was returned to the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton yesterday ... Expect to see RW Dany Heatley named to Eastern Conference all-star team today. He played in the 2004 game in Sunrise, Fla., scored four goals and won a Dodge Truck as the MVP. "I'd love to go again," said Heatley. "I had a lot of fun the last time I was there." ... Meszaros and RW Patrick Eaves are both candidates to play in the NHL YoungStars game being held Jan. 22.
