The Ottawa Senators are headed to a movie theatre near you.

Today, the Senators and Cineplex Entertainment confirmed an earlier Sun report that the NHL team's five pay-per-view telecasts will be made available to fans at movie theatres in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. The Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs earlier joined the growing trend of bringing NHL telecasts to movie theatre screens.

The five pay-per-view games will be shown at the South Keys, Coliseum and Silver City cinemas in Ottawa, Galaxy Cinemas in Brockville, Gardiners Road Cinemas in Kingston and Galaxy Cinemas in Cornwall.

Ticket prices are $10.95 for adults, and $8.95 for children ages 3-12.

"The broadcast available to Senators fans at Cineplex theatres will be a unique viewing experience," Jim Steel, the Senators vice-president of broadcasting, said in a statement. "The broadcasts will be commercial free, and tailor-made for this type of venue."

The Sens' pay-per-view schedule this season includes the following games: Dec. 12, at Detroit; March 8, vs. Toronto; March 13, at New York Rangers; March 18, at Pittsburgh Penguins, and April 3, at New Jersey Devils.

They are available for purchase at theatre box offices or online at www.cineplex.com.
