Martin Gerber looked so good in the game-day skate today that Senators coach Bryan Murray has changed his mind and given Gerber the start in net for tonight's game against the Washington Capitals.

The decision means Ray Emery will remain on the bench for the second straight game as the squad tries to find some consistency in its game.

"I just thought that Gerber looked good in practice," said Murray, explaining why he has changed his mind.

In other news today, Ottawa defenceman Wade Redden will be a scratch with a sore groin for his third straight game.

Tonight's match, (7 p.m., A-Channel) kicks off a four-game road stretch for the beleaguered Senators, who left Ottawa with just a 5-7 record and riding a three-game losing streak.
