The Senators announced this morning the signing of two draft picks, centre Cody Bass and left-winger Arttu Luttinen.

Bass, a native of Owen Sound, played the last three seasons with the OHL's Mississauga IceDogs and captained the team last season. At the end of the IceDogs' season in March, the 19-year-old signed a tryout contract with the Senators' AHL affiliate in Binghamton, and had a goal and two penalty minutes over nine games. He was a fourth-round pick in the 2005 draft.

Bass was also part of Canada's world under-18 squad, which won silver.

Luttinen, born in Helsinki, played with SM-Liiga in the Finnish elite league last season. He was selected in the 2002 draft.

The 22-year-old had 18 goals, 26 assists and 66 penalty minutes over 56 regular-season games in 2005-06, and added seven points (4-3) and 39 penalty minutes in 12 playoff matchups. Luttinen finished second in team scoring and tied for eighth in the league.
