THE SKINNY: Was drafted by the New York Islanders No. 3 overall in 1998. His rights were dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1999 for Dmitri Nabokov. He was then dealt to the Sabres with veteran Doug Gilmour for Michal Grosek on March 10, 2000 ... Has been playing on a line with C Daniel Briere and LW Jochen Hecht this season and the trio is being credited for much of the club's success this year ... Is making $1.596 million US this season ... Played three games last season in Bern, Switzerland, during the lockout.

NOTEWORTHY:

Buffalo G Ryan Miller, who made 28 saves in a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, will be in the net for the Sabres. "He looked comfortable (Thursday) and he was quick again," said Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff. "I really thought he was back on his game." ... Senators G Ray Emery, who has made every start since the Olympic break because of an adductor injury to Dominik Hasek, is expected to be in the net tonight. He's 7-1-1 during that stretch ... The Senators are 39-0-0 when they score four or more goals this season ... There are fewer than 100 tickets remaining for tonight's game ... Saturday night has been all right for the Sens. The club is 12-1-2 on Saturdays and has outscored its opponents 69-24 in the process ... Senators Chris Kelly, Dany Heatley, Ray Emery, Bryan Smolinski, Anton Volchenkov, Chris Phillips, Daniel Alfredsson and Wade Redden will all use pink sticks tonight in a tribute to hockey moms and to raise awareness of breast cancer.

SENATORS: C Mike Fisher (ankle), out indefinitely; RW Martin Havlat (shoulder), out until April 1; G Dominik Hasek (adductor muscle), out indefinitely.
