BOSTON -- Is the Northeast the best division in hockey?

You don't have to say much to convince Bryan Murray.

"No one seems to lose very often," said the Senators coach. "Montreal keeps winning and Toronto keeps finding a way to win. Boston and Buffalo are both tough teams to play against. This is definitely a tough division for us to play in."

Heading into play last night, Montreal had 25 points; Ottawa 22; Boston 19; Toronto 18; and Buffalo 14.

ZHAMNOV BACK: Bruins C Alexei Zhamnov, signed as a free agent by Boston in the off-season from Philadelphia, will make his Bruins debut tonight. He has been out since training camp with a shoulder injury and unable to play. Murray is convinced Zhamov's return will improve the Bruins. "He's going to make the club better. He did a good job in Chicago, but I don't think he got the accolades because the club didn't have success. I'm pretty sure you are going to see him playing with Sergei Samsonov and that should help improve the team," said Murray.
