Sens have no room for York

Unless the Senators have a change of heart, there will be no homecoming for free-agent D Jason York.

While Senators GM John Muckler did contact the blueliner last month, York was offered a deal that included a minor-league clause if he was sent to Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton.

York, a Nepean native, passed and will wait and see if he can get a better deal. The word is the Leafs, Panthers and Canucks are interested.

After finishing the 2003-04 season with the Predators, York spent part of the lockout playing in Switzerland.

GET YOUR TICKETS: The Senators announced yesterday that seats for 19 regular-season games from October-December will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. Seats are available in the Coca-Cola Zone for as low as $12.82 plus taxes. The Senators are offering three "Welcome Back Nights" which will include half-price seats: The home opener against the Sabres on Oct. 8; Nov. 5 against Alexei Yashin and the Islanders; and a visit by the Hurricanes on Nov. 15.

HELPING VICTIMS: The Senators are hoping to raise more than $40,000 for Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund by collecting donations through the Rookie Tournament and pre-season along with 50/50 sales at home games.
