The Senators will open the season with a good look at the Northeast Division.

After starting the year against the Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre on Oct. 5, the Senators will face the Sabres in their home opener on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Corel Centre.

With the NHL schedule released yesterday, the Senators learned they will face the Leafs on Oct. 10 at home and then travel to Montreal for a game against the Habs on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The Bruins visit the Corel Centre Oct. 15.

"Facing the division rivals is a great way to start the season. I think it's going to be excellent," said Senators GM John Muckler.

NO WORD ON WHITE: Muckler refused to comment on the future of local Senators C Todd White, who is a restricted free agent and requires a qualifying offer. "I haven't made a decision because I can't make a decision right now," he said.
