Mike Fisher is ready to go back to the Swiss Alps next season, but only if he has to.
While the Senators centre has agreed to return to Zug in the Swiss Elite League if the NHL lockout continues next season, he said last night a report that he does not have an out-clause is "erroneous."
"If the NHL is back on the ice next season, I'll be back there playing," Fisher said yesterday from Zug. "It was reported here that I had committed to playing here next year, but that's not the case. The NHL is where I want to be playing. It was written in the papers here that I had committed for next year.
"I wouldn't do anything to stop myself from (being able to play in) the NHL. I've enjoyed my time here and it's been a lot of fun, but my No. 1 choice is to play with the Senators. I've got an out-clause."
Fisher has nine goals and 18 assists in 21 games with Zug.
"I like it here. It's a lot of fun. I just wanted to protect myself in case there is no NHL next year," said Fisher. "This has been a good experience and I'm enjoying it, but this is not my top choice."
