Sweden isn't all right with Sens' White

Todd White's European adventure didn't last long. The Senators centre, who flew to Sweden on Boxing Day, played only one game for Sodertalje before asking GM Mats Hallin for his release for what were described as "personal reasons."

Swedish media reports indicate the club isn't happy with White's decision to bolt. He had an assist against Mora, then returned to Canada yesterday.

"It's for personal reasons. I don't want to talk about more than that. Please respect that, even though it all turned out like this," said White.

Hallin chose his words carefully, but the talk is he's not happy because the club will have to play one import short for the next month until another window opens to sign North American players.

"I am sorry to say Todd has asked us to relieve him from the contract and we have agreed to that," said Hallin.
