Dan Cleary is missing two teeth and Senators defenceman Zdeno Chara will miss a game.

In his Swedish Elite League debut last night, Chara was given a game misconduct and won't be allowed to suit up for Farjestad's next game tomorrow after being charged with a hit from behind on Cleary.

The 6-foot-9 Chara was thrown out with 42 seconds left against Mora when he made contact with Cleary, who wasn't hurt, but lost two teeth as a result.

"I didn't mean to do it," said Chara. "It was an accident."

This was the first game for Chara since a thumb injury at the World Cup.

OWNERS WIN: Hockey News readers supported owners by a 3-1 ratio in their NHL labour dispute with the players. More than 11,000 responses to a survey showed 39% of respondents supporting the NHL, while 12% supported the players.

VINCE HEADS OUT: Russia's AK Bars Kazan signed Vincent Lecavalier yesterday and could add Brad Richards soon. It's believed Lecavalier will earn more than $300,000 US a month. Kazan, owned by a deep-pocketed oil company, already has Ilya Kovalchuk, Nik Antropov, Darius Kasparaitis, Ruslan Salei, Fred Brathwaite, Denis Arkhipov and Alexei Morozov.
