NEWARK - The New Jersey Devils filed for arbitration with restricted free agent forward Zach Parise on Friday.

Parise is considered signed to a one-year contract for next season with his salary to be determined in arbitration. He could become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2012, if the Devils can't work out a deal before that time.

Parise, who will turn 27 next month, played in just 13 games last season due to right knee surgery, which he had in November. He played in 12 games prior to the injury and then came back for one contest, April 2 against Montreal. For the season, he had three goals and three assists.

Over six NHL seasons, all with the Devils, Parise has compiled 163 goals and 178 assists in 420 contests.
