Injured New Jersey Devils forward Zach Parise was cleared Wednesday to start skating.

Parise, out since late October with a torn meniscus in his knee that required surgery, will skate on his own for two or three weeks, according to Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello.

"Zach met with the physician today and I spoke to the physician and Zach this afternoon," Lamoriello said on the team's web site. "He's fine. He can begin skating lightly immediately. He certainly isn't where he has to be with the strength of his leg and that should be another three weeks to get where he should be."

Parise has missed the last 50 games after getting off to a slow start this season. He had three goals and three assists in 12 games before getting hurt.
