NEWARK, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils placed veteran forward Brian Rolston on re-entry waivers Wednesday.

Another team can claim the 37-year-old forward before 12 p.m. (EST) on Thursday for half his salary, and the Devils would pick up the other half.

If he clears re-entry waivers, he would be recalled.

Rolston has played 1,142 games in the NHL with New Jersey, Colorado, Boston and Minnesota, scoring 323 goals with 385 assists.

He won a Stanley Cup with the Devils in 1995 during his initial stint with the team.
